Step Four. More thoughts
This is a bad day and I am thinking that perhaps I should chicken out and abandon this painting. It hurts. What is it about "longing" that is so poignant and irrisistable? Is it my age? Perhaps the words of Albert Camus when he wrote "Without culture, and the relative freedom it implies, society, even when perfect, is but a jungle. This is why any authentic creation is a gift to the future." should inspire me to endure and stick with it. He also wrote "There is always a philosophy for lack of courage." so, fuck it, I have no choice. Onwards and forwards and excuse the profanity but hey, fuck it.
I shall paint tonight and start with thinking about colour. Longing is warm! It has to be because it is not cold so I will change the blue into orange or red/yellow.
