Step Whatever. 5 I think.
I have decided to continue to work on "Longing". I worked last night and turned the blue to pinkish orange. Today I will do a bit more on the faces and this means losing what I have already done but fear not as they will return in stunnining 3D. If you have to many varied textures on a piece they become very difficult to photograph for prints and the work looks lazy. I like to paint as many layers as possible because then the final product glows. Eg. You can mix red and yellow and paint the resulting orange onto your canvas or you can first paint the red and then the yellow on top of that. This leaves you with about a million variations of colour and this is the brilliant aspect of oils. You learn new stuff with every piece. (See previous posting about dots).
